Most sea stars have five arms, and all have thousands of feet. They power themselves through a system of hydraulics, drawing water through narrow canals in their arms and pumping it out through said feet. They can move in any direction, either towards food, which they "smell" through sensors on the skin called chemoreceptors, or towards one another—biologists have observed them touching each other on purpose, perhaps to learn more. #oceanx 🎥: @Juliette Horn and Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum
